[00:27.43] The first thing I wanted to ask you
[00:29.09] The album is called "Threads," and I understand
[00:31.95] That you had been doing some recording with Kris Kristofferson
[00:35.24] And that is kind of what led you to want to make this album
[00:38.50] With some of your heroes and some of your peers, so
[00:41.40] Tell me how it worked, because there are so many incredible names on here
[00:45.22] Did you have a list of people you wanted to work with?
[00:47.99] Did the songs kind of guide you to who you wanted to record with?
[00:51.76] Well, the process did start with Kris Kristofferson
[00:53.82] And after I recorded with him, I called Steve Jordan
[00:55.91] And said, "I want more of this
[00:57.52] I want more of the special moments that change the molecules"
[01:02.19] And he and I talked about what that would look like
[01:05.47] And I said, "Well, I don't know exactly what that's gonna look like
[01:07.85] Except for, I'll write songs, I'll do the songs by the people that matter to me
[01:13.44] I'll write with people when I, when there's an opportunity to do that"
[01:16.61] And it was all of that
[01:18.25] I wrote with Joe Walsh, "For The Record"
[01:20.40] I did a Bob Dylan song because I love him so much
[01:23.08] With Jason Isbell, I did a George Harrison song
[01:26.37] Because not only was he a monumental figure in my creative life but also
[01:31.18] The song felt necessary to record for my children
[01:35.05] For the people of their generation
[01:37.48] And I asked Eric to play on it
[01:38.82] And I asked Brandi to sing on it because she's a mom
[01:41.25] And there were just so many things that were
[01:43.17] Threads that just wove through the making of this record
[01:46.12] And that presented themselves
[01:47.56] Well, there are so many amazing songs on this album
[01:50.26] I say, let's not waste any time
[01:52.14] We're gonna start with Track One, it's "Prove You Wrong"
[01:54.78] Now, this is you, Maren Morris and Stevie Nicks, so
[01:58.05] Tell us about getting the three of you together for this song
[02:01.60] "Prove You Wrong" was such a joy
[02:03.33] I knew I wanted to have Stevie Nicks on this record
[02:05.45] She's been a huge inspiration for me since I was really young
[02:08.88] And then I got to meet her a few years later
[02:10.85] At a GRAMMYs party and wound up working with her
[02:13.03] And wound up getting to produce her
[02:14.54] And tour with her and above all, she's just a remarkable woman
[02:18.88] And incredible fully realized artist
[02:21.85] And so I knew I wanted to bring Stevie in on something
[02:24.76] And so, I wrote this song really kind of with her in mind
[02:27.77] And I also wanted to sort of bring in
[02:30.82] Somebody I felt like was maybe the next generation
[02:34.01] Of a Stevie Nicks, Sheryl Crow
[02:35.52] And that's Maren Morris, I mean Maren Morris, I feel like
[02:38.44] Has that incredible sex appeal but also that strength that Stevie has
[02:42.77] And has always had, and it was just a perfect marriage
[02:45.62] To get the both of them on this song that is very much
[02:48.52] In both of their wheelhouses
[02:50.44] And it's fun to listen to
[02:52.01] I love this song 'cause there's a bit of sass in there
[02:54.47] And I mean, you've got three powerhouse women on it
