A 90 Word Album Title Full Lyrics
[00:00.07] The title of the second album
[00:03.51] It was just, like, a silly little poem that I wrote
[00:06.02] It wasn't even supposed to be a song
[00:07.54] And I had written it when I was going on tour
[00:11.64] I just got on to the tour bus
[00:12.81] And I had been in SPIN- on the cover of SPIN Magazine
[00:16.35] And they kinda- they had really spun it to be, like
[00:20.29] That I was "Crazy-little-sad," y'know, "loose-cannon-girl"
[00:25.34] And I got on the bus and, very unlike me, I-
[00:29.97] And I opened up SPIN Magazine
[00:31.36] And it was the issue afterwards where people write in the letters
[00:34.80] And I was so stupid, I looked at the letters that people wrote in
[00:40.63] And not one was good
[00:42.47] It was all people talking about how annoying I was
[00:46.58] How, um, how crazy, but I- it was just all terrible stuff
[00:51.15] And it was right when I had got on the bus to go back out on tour
[00:54.16] And I was exhausted
[00:54.90] And I didn't wanna go anyway, and I read that, and I was like
[00:57.27] "What's the use?"
[00:57.83] And I got so sad that there was no way for me to like
[01:00.50] Curl up in a ball and die because we had to go out on the road
[01:03.67] So, I kinda got- I tried to give myself a little pep talk
[01:07.55] Which, a lot of my songs and- are pep talks to myself
[01:10.62] "Extraordinary Machine" is a pep talk, y'know, uh
[01:14.30] And, um, and so, I wrote a little pep talk to myself
[01:19.15] Just sitting there and writing on the back of the magazine
[01:22.81] And, when it came time to name the next album
[01:25.97] I think it became kind of a joke for me
[01:29.21] Because I feel silly about naming the albums
[01:32.46] 'Cause each song is it's own little world to me
[01:34.49] And the fact, y'know, you just-
[01:35.69] When you have ten, you make an album
[01:37.58] Um, but I, y'know, my first album was called "Tidal"
[01:41.21] And it was- it made sense but it was also kind of a joke
[01:44.34] About having a title, and then I just- I- I just thought
[01:50.62] "Well, I'm gonna put that poem"
[01:52.82] And I thought that just using "When The Pawn" sounded kind of cool
[01:56.89] And so, I put that
[01:57.71] And the cool thing about that is
[01:58.76] That I didn't do this on purpose, but I'm so-
[02:00.76] I got so much crap for putting that ninety word thing
[02:04.36] And, y'know, for- of course it was, like, y'know
[02:06.46] Stole the thunder of the actual album at first
[02:08.79] Because everyone was like
[02:09.43] "Oh, God, she's so annoying
[02:11.53] She had to go and do a ninety word album
[02:13.54] To get attention or something"
[02:14.99] And I really was just kind of kidding around
[02:16.94] But I don't care what anybody says because
[02:19.01] Its the coolest thing I'm in the Guinness Book of World Records
[02:23.33] And no- and
[02:24.84] And unless somebody goes out and makes an album with ninety-one words
[02:28.09] I'm in the Guinness Book of World Records
[02:30.07] And I think that that's well worth any kind of flack that I got
[02:32.25]
